# Order discounts: percentage and fixed savings

> Offer percentage or fixed savings on order merchandise, control eligibility with conditions, and understand interactions with product discounts.

Order discounts offer percentage or fixed savings on order merchandise. They are a different discount category from product discounts and do not reduce shipping charges.

## Configure an order discount

1. Click **添加折扣 → 订单折扣** (Add discount → Order discount).
2. Choose percentage or fixed amount and enter the savings value.
3. Set a maximum discount amount for percentage savings if needed.
4. Add quantity, spending, or customer conditions for your goal.
5. Save a draft, activate the campaign, and check real checkout.

## Examples and scope

For merchandise totaling 120, a 10% order discount saves 12 when no other discount applies. With product discounts present, percentage order savings use the merchandise amount after product discounts. Check the actual checkout allocation.

A condition's product scope controls which items meet the threshold; it does not automatically restrict the order discount to those items. Use a [product discount](https://discount.xrtotech.com/en/features/product-discount.md) to reduce only selected merchandise, or an [additional discount](https://discount.xrtotech.com/en/features/additional-discount.md) to discount selected items after product savings.

## Multiple order rules

Do not assume order discounts apply consecutively in list order. Under the campaign's “use multiple discounts” strategy, order discounts still select the best offer. Separate campaigns also depend on both sides' combination permissions and Shopify checkout rules.
